"I thought that there were special satnavs for an HGV, perhaps including overweight, overheight, overlength, and overwidth, and also special maps with permanent restrictions marked up." I would have thought that was the case, though perhaps many of the cowboys do not have them fitted. In the meantime, we need more signs, and more police spot checks and monitoring. Long-term, we need a camera, though the cost may rule that out. If those making the reports to police do not get a satisfactory response - i.e. a commitment to prosecute when given photographic evidence, a commitment to watch for offenders when in the area - than it needs to be escalated to the Met Police's Borough Commander for Ealing, Chief Superintendent Andy Rowell. All those involved - local police, local councillors, Angie Bray MP etc - must be copied in on the email to him so they are aware of this and the level of local concern on the matter. His email appears to be: andy.rowell@met.pnn.police.uk I would also suggest copying in any of the site operators for which emails are available. Does anyone who attended the industrial site meeting with Angie Bray MP or who has had any other contact with site operators, have any of their email addresses? |
