Bob: Wheelie bins: A special collection vehicle has to be used to empty wheelie bins, ie, one with a special grab and hoist mechanism. As the bin has to be wheeled to the vehicle, the frontage and pavement onto the roadway will have to be ramped, ie, a pavement/frontage crossover in place, in order that the bin can be wheeled by the refuse collection operative to the vehicle waiting in the roadway, without it toppling over. So it follows that properties without ramps must 'not be operationally suitable' for wheelie bins. So that said, there aren't many properties in Acton I would think that have this facility. So, another waste of money in having to purchase or lease these 'special' vehicles in order to empty wheelie bins. |
