| Hello, you have mentioned that birthdays and blood transfusions are not in the Bible, but if you look at the account at Genesis chap 40 verse 20 you will find that this pagan Pharoah on the occassion of his birthday had the chief of the cupbearers put to death. The other occasion is when Herod (an apostate king)on the his birthday had John the baptist put to death,(Matt 14:6-10) Nowhere does the Bible make any mention of Christians celebrating birthdays, on the contrary Jesus said we should commemorate his death in remberance of him(Luke 22:19) On the question of blood, right throughout the scriptures God has stated that blood is sacred and spilt blood should be poured out on the earth.(Gen 9:4,16; Lev 17:4; 7:26,27) Then in determining which of the ancient laws Christians were to keep, the Apostles and older men in Jerusalem said that Christians were to abstain from blood,among other things, please read Acts 15:28,29 and 21:25 to confirm this for yourself. When Witnesses call, they make a note of those addresses where nobody is at home and call again at another time, and if after a number of times they still find nobody at home they will leave a tract or some other literaure. It is up to the individual to use his discretion in doing this. I really don't understand your point about computers and mobile phones. Do have a pleasant day. |
