The issue for many of us in this area will soon be the extension of the Low Emissions Zone out to the N Circular Road. By then, many non-compliant diesel cars will have to be replaced, either by new electric vehicles or older but compliant petrol cars. Neither solution is particularly appealing, and is unlikely to be solved by wholesale cycling. And then we're told the biggest pollutant is actually wood burning fires, so I fear we'll always have an excuse for doing nothing!
