A couple of days ago, while approaching from Ealing, we were stopped at this junction while a car approaching from the right navigated the roundabout in front of us when a car overtaking to the left of us drove straight past and nearly hit it. The consequence was the car on the roundabout had to brake sharply in front of us just as we were about to enter the roundabout. The car with right of way then waved the miscreant through ahead. Are the signs that it is now a roundabout good enough? A long time ago (when it was lights) I remember having turned right at the lights to go down Bollo Lane and having to stop at the zebra to let someone cross only to hear a squeal of brakes behind me and was just thinking someone is having to stop fast when our car was shunted from behind. Zebras so close to junctions have worried me ever since. On the other hand the crossing has to be where pedestrians need/want to cross and they should not have to walk much further because they won't. This junction is greatly improved the way it is now. |
