| Sorry Colin, no powers over road naming when these houses were built. Several local history pubications suggest origins for names of roads, generally the builders choice. Hence family, place of birth, favourite resorts and literature are common. Nowadays the LA must approve any name, along with the fire brigade. I would always go for a local history connection. A former colleague managed to sneak in her Mothers birth place near Glasgow, on a site in North London! |
