| I always wondered if the builders saw there were Goldsmiths almshouses etc and thought (being literate craftsmen who would have appreciated Toby's school)not of the filthy lucre but of Oliver, author of the Vicar of Wakefield and The Deserted Village, and decided to surround him with likeminded names. No evidence for that thesis mind... |
