Topic: CPZ ‘consultation’

Today I received a copy of a document from the Council claiming to be a consultation on extending CPZ operating hours where they currently operate one hour in the morning, one in the afternoon. Strangely, I’ve not heard anyone in my street complain that the operating hours are too short. The document claims there is ‘high parking stress’ in the area. It asks for responses online. I’ve given mine. The online form gives the game away in part; this is part of the Council’s plans for net zero by 2030, ie make it harder for people to drive anywhere.

The most dishonest part of the consultation is the options offered to select: 8am-8pm, 8am-6pm or ‘other’. There is no option to retain the current hours unless you write that in the ‘other’ box.

Anyone wanting to give their views can do so at www.ealing.gov.uk/consultation-extended-cpz by 11 December.
