There is no data!! There was no data saying what the traffic was before and there is none to say what it is now. I did not list just effects of it, I listed the obvious flaws in the scheme. I seem to remember you live in Acacia Road so love the idea that traffic is now blocked in your road, but do you care about the added pollution for people living in Horn Lane? Or do they have less right to clean air because they live in flats not big, expensive houses? If they blocked off Grafton Road and turned Acacia Road into the exit road, would you be happy with that, or do people in Grafton Road have no right to complain. After all, Acacia Road is much wider than Grafton, so there would be fewer problems with the exit being blocked. These plans were designed in a matter of weeks when money was made available by the Government. They have now been in a year and there has been a massive percentage vote against them. Yet they are still there. No changes, no suggestion of changes, just a refusal to listen to the residents. And here's a bit of data for you. Horn Lane has been recorded in the past 15 years as the most polluted road in London. It regularly shows up with dangerous pollution levels. So our council - and those planners - decided 'let's put more traffic down there'. What responsible people would do that? |
