| There is a view that the balance between (a) a public park without a fun fair and (b) one with one has gone too far and too often in favour of (b) for more days in the year than is necessary. I don't object to a few days a year but there are fun fairs every year in Ravenscourt Park, on Shepherds' Bush Green, in Acton Park, on Turnham Green, on Acton Green, on Ealing Common and so on. It's not as if these are out of reach of most people. Let's enjoy our parks for most of the year as havens of peace and beauty, with areas for play and sport. That's not a whinge, it's trying to strike a reasonable balance. |
