The new tower proposed is not under Ealing Council's jurisdiction as are many in the North Acton area. They are approved by the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation which was set up under the Mayorality of Boris Johnson who, if memory serves me correctly, was not a Labour party member. The reason you can't get a Doctor's appointment or an NHS dentist is not because housing is being built. GPs are retiring in large numbers and younger qualified doctors are declining to take up vacancies due to poor pay and better opportunities elsewhere particularly overseas. Dentists are ceasing to give NHS provision due to relatively poor rates they get per patient. There are plenty of dentists including new ones in the area but not NHS ones due to government not council policy. There are also new Doctor's surgeries in the area which are being funded by money taken from developers including the large one on Bollo Bridge Road. I've not seen any reports that our water supply or sewage system is overloaded locally. There have been reports about problems with the electricity grid but the main source of demand is not new housing but the massive data centres being set up along the A40. At the margin, net demand from new housing is tiny. |
