I don't think this was private - latest at top: Sara I can categorically confirm that Ian Brown did not say after 2012/the Olympics, and that he has been misquoted. The full benefits of the improvement works will become a reality for our passengers in mid 2011, as explained at the meeting. Thanks, Myriam Dear Myriam, Have you been back to Ian Stone with the transcript and asking him to clarify in attributable speech that the quote given is wrong? I think that needs to be done to lay this to rest if it is indeed a misunderstanding. His words - as transcribed - seemed rather clear to me so I wonder how any misapprehension could have arisen Thanks for getting back to me Sara Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Walburger Myriam Date: Thu, 11 Feb 2010 13:37:09 +0000 To: Sara Nathan Cc: Stone Kate Subject: RE: TfL transcript Dear Sara I have looked into this and there appear to have been some confusion with Jerry Gold misinterpreting the address of Ian Brown MD, to the TfL Board. In fact, Ian Brown did not say that signal works will be delayed until after the Olympics, and this is not the case. The phase one of the signalling system will be installed as stated during the period from 20th Feb to 31st May, with subsequent stages starting later, in the second half of 2010 (not after the Olympics). As promised, passengers will see the benefit of eight trains an hour between Camden Road and Stratford by mid- 2011. It is normal practice to constantly review the sequence of works on a project of this scale and complexity and changes to the scheduled closures are unavoidable. I hope that this clarifies matters and reassures you that the programme of work is committed, and that the improvements will be delivered as planned. Regards, Myriam |
