Early next week, the ambitious proposal to kick start a vibrant new street art movement in Acton will be put to the Mayor of London for funding, with additional support being requested from Ealing Council.

There is loads of support for this potentially transforming art in Acton. Some are dubious and worry about the art encouraging other graffiti, or that it won’t be to their taste, or that it might not be what they want to see in their neighbourhood. But this really could be the beginning of change for Acton. If you look at what world-class street art has done for places like Shoreditch and Athens, it is often the sign that change is happening, that grass-roots movements are taking hold. It brings communities together and gets conversations going.

In Acton’s case, with much of the change we would like to see controlled outside W3, this is something we can all get behind. Even if you just pledge £1, your pledge will make a difference. It is the number of individual supporters behind the initiative which is important – not the amount of money raised (although if you can pledge more, please do. No money will be taken unless the project gets a green light).

Please visit the page and lend your support as soon as you can. Yes, it's quirky, yes it's new/inspirational/something a bit different. But if we don't commit to change, we won't see change in W3.
