Jeremy, as I said my husband applied for his permit and it arrived on time, I have nothing to complain about at our end of the road.  All is calm and those who do not have parking permits displayed during the controlled hours are being issued with parking tickets.

It is well known that Parking Departments of any Council receive the most complaints from residents and visitors.  They cannot do anything right as far as car drivers are concerned.

I do not drive so cannot get all emotional about parking.  If I had my way I would ban all cars from residential streets !!!!

How do such things work in Europe?
