| I imagine those "transiting West London" already use the A40 - no-one trying to do long distances swiftly would use Acton High Street - for all the reasons you give, Peter. Many of the lorries are probably moving within West London either from depot nearby or customer locally...the industrial estate on the Vale for instance and Park Royal must generate lots of traffic - as do the shops and businesses immediately in and around the High SStreet. What might be worth doing is a traffic survey to see what the routes and destinations are of the heavier traffic. I wouldn't venture an opinion on closing the High Street to larger vehicles until I had some serious and well-founded evidence. |
