Recently we had a problem in my area. Twyford Crescent Gardens became most unsafe for us locals exercising our dogs there. A group of grey hooded men had set up  camp there. They had opened umbrellas on the ground to prevent us seeing what they were up to, They were sorting through piles of clothing they had emptied from a shopping trolley and boxes and boxe sof stuff .  . Two bikes were propped up by them . Next day there were more of them. So I walked down to Acton Police Station with my rescue dog in tow. A very nice lady listened to my concerns about this group of men making residents fearful to walk through those Gardens with their dogs and told me to wait a minute or two while she went to seek out some officers . Came back and said they would give me 15 mijutes to get home and then send two officers down to Twyford Crescent Gardens. When I  got home I stood at my front gate and true to their word I saw two officers entering the Gardens. . Later in the day when driving down to Morrisons I saw the Gardens were free of this group of hooded men. It transpires the huge mansion house they had been living in by Elm Tree Road near the Grange pub Ealing Common had been let and they were turfed out  and homeless. Last year whilst exercising our dogs on that smaller part of Ealing Common we saw a Fire Engine , five police cars,  one police van and dozens of officers outside this posh mansion house . They were joined by a van load of armed officers complete with helmets and shields who proceded to crash their way into the house. Being a mere 50 meters away we decided to move on as we might be caught in a firing line . So police knew about these fellows I had reported camping out in Twyford Crescen Gardens Fifteen in total !!  Thankfully all gone now and we feel safe walking our dogs there now. Not one strange person loitering in the bushes or sitting on the benches thank goodness.  I went to the Police Station and asked the kind lady on reception to thank the Officers for their quick response to remove those men who had set up camp .
