The Royal Horticultural Society has ideas and help on how to still incorporate plants into your front garden so as to not denude it of all vegetation completely. With the increased amount of building and increasing heavy showers of rain that we are now getting many buildings are now having to have their guttering and downpipes changed and more attention paid to the way that water runs off and away. If we pave everything then the sewers will not be able to cope with the run off of water. There are now more regulations about what you can do to your garden and permeable and porous surfaces are best - and that includes when you are replacing as well as when you do something new. Think before you act. You may be causing more problems. |
