I honestly do not understand why fortnightly collections should be an issue - for those who recyle - properly. I put out one black bag every month (!) - it does not smell or attract vermin (in my kitchen bin and later in my black bin I bought several years ago) because there is nothing in there to do just that. This still works easily with two or three people, tried and tested. The food caddie goes out every week, plastic and green box when full - as they are huge, usually every 6/8 weeks or so. Surely, unless there are more than 5 or 6 people in your home (you can ask for extra containers), where is the problem? Less vehicles on the road, less pollution and congestion - a win-win situation if we all stop moaning and make an effort! If anyone doesn't understand what/how they can recycle, please ask - it is soooo easy!
