Yes, and the 50mph repeater signs have been covered on both carriageways. The "30" markings on the westbound carriageway must have been painted over the weekend; they weren't there on Friday. If they want to impose a 30mph limit (and goodness knows why), they should at least do it in one go, not in this piecemeal way. The absence of repeater signs on a road without street lamps must mean that the only enforceable limit is the National Limit, 70mph. 30 mph could only be enforced, if at all, for a short distance on the eastbound carriageway after the A3220 junction where there are temporary signs. Numbers painted on the carriageway are only reminders, and need to be backed up by signs to be legally effective. I'll write to TfL again. |
