| Well I'm just please to have not one but two really good pubs on our doorstep and quietly tucked out of the way too. Personally I now favour the Station House. Since it was taken over by Tracey and co last year it has certainly changed, I went in once couple of years ago and it just felt empty. Now it feels anything but. The food is good, and a bit cheaper than the rocket I think. In my time drinking in the Station House I have got to know the staff more than I ever did at the Rocket and its always nice to be recognised somewhere. Maybe its just an effect of having popped my head in during the early days when they were keen to win custom. Its also at least 30 seconds closer to my front door! Am not knocking the Rocket though, the food is really good, though I miss the free bread board you used to get there when ordering food, and I know they do well putting on events up stairs. Like I said, not one but two good pubs. Can't complain. |
