and then there’s the effect of rain. From my conversations with those who should know, rainfall dramatically reducing dust levels (not surprisingly really). PM10 readings over the last couple of day show very variable readings, with some very low readings during the day suddenly then spiking severely. Gowing and Pursey should be using washing equipment to keep down dust levels, but there have been some particularly high recorded dust particle levels during the recent hot dry weather, suggesting that either the equipment is not effective or the equipment is not being used. |
