I think you're right, Mavis. For the record, at about 10pm tonight (or rather last night as it now is) I went for an evening stroll. At one point, I saw a fox trotting towards me... upon seeing me it stopped, turned tail and fled. No evidence there of foxes "becoming bolder" as has been argued by some. In contrast, about five minutes earlier I happened across a very friendly cat who approached me and punched its head up into the air for a stroke. After a minute or so of exchanging greetings, it got a bit over-enthusiastic and started trying to take a friendly bite out of my hand. I hope for the fox's sake that it doesn't come across said cat - as I said previously moggies are superb fighting machines and this one was not at all timid! (I did in fact observe a fox give a domestic cat a very wide berth in a south London street a few years ago). We are a population of 60 million. The fact that so much attention is given to an attack by an alleged fox on just two humans shows that in the overall scheme of things this is a non-issue. However, for the nasty, bigoted toffs of the Countryside Alliance this is just another squalid opportunity to promote their fox hunting agenda in advance of the free parliamentary vote that has been promised. |
