| Apologies for not replying sooner. The council had accepted our request to submit our petition to save the Goldsmiths Arms. We had prepared our presentation and the Rv Jon Westall was going to present on behalf of the community. However the day before the full council meeting we were notified that the council could not accept it at a full council meeting as our petition was linked to a planning application. The petition will be accepted as part of the communities objection to the demolition of the local pub and community resource at the planning committee. We would have like to have had an opportunity to present our case to all councillors as it is possibly outside the remit of the planning committee to consider the wider socio-economic, health and well-being issues of losing a popular community resource. |
