| The rubber blocks have been there for some time - they are shown on Google Street View, for example. It may be that renewing the rails has resulted in a mismatch between the sleepers and the rubber blocks, or maybe the sleepers have been damaged in some way. Network Rail say that their records show a phone message to me from John Eccles 3 weeks ago that mentions the week beginning 22 November, followed by an email that changes the date to mid-October. I received the phone message last week, and did not receive the email (which evidently went to M O'Donald). I've asked John Eccles to phone me. |
