This is quintessential Disney: remember “when you wish upon a star”
From Cinderella (I think) . Well, this takes the lyrics as the basis of a whole film.
It’s a mash up of political thought 101 with a riff on “power corrupted and absolute power corrupts absolutely. So at least there is something for adult viewers to think about.

The plot finishes a courageous 17 yo who challenges the autocratic king who takes adults wishes from them, makes them forget them and then grants a few a year. But they aren’t HIS wishes and she wants to liberate and return them. Aided by a cheeky star, some child and (this is Disney) many talking animals.

It’s very beautifully done in a standard Disney way. The music is fine.
I thought it livened up with the arrival of the star but to be rather derivative of earlier, better Disney classics. But OH enjoyed it very much more and was rather keen.
