Zed is a rapper who's not got that far in the business but may be about to get his big break opening for a famous rapper on a European tour. This brings him back to London for the first time in two years and a visit to the old-fashioned Pakistani parents he has left behind in every sense.

He is devastated to be struck down by an auto-immune disease which leaves him emaciated, wasted and unable to walk. He's initially heavily in denial but there is no hope of the tour going ahead with him and he has to give his place to a fellow rapper whom he despises. A new experimental treatment may help him but it's as harsh as chemo and will leave him sterile. His father wants him to try old Indian remedies like cupping.

I found this fascinating, very different with its 90% BAME cast. It touches on the gulf between immigrants and their English children. It's quite claustrophobic as many scenes take place in hospital.

It's only fair to say that my friends were less enthusiastic than I.

I have one more film to review tomorrow, after which things are set to go quiet again.
