| A little late to the game as I have been silently fuming about this new contractor (well, not so silent on twitter) but thought I'd throw my two cents in too. It has taken our household almost two months to get a new food waste bin delivered after the new contractors didn't return ours - three applications online and endless phone calls to the council about it with repeated reassurances that our bin would always be delivered the next day (of course it wasn't). When I called last week to complain AGAIN (and finally get our new bin), I was told that there have been numerous complaints against the new company and that it is complete madness. The council claims to have saved £3 million with this new contractor but I can't help wondering how much the overtime bills have run to in these first few weeks with all of the missed collections and new bins having to be issued after residents have had theirs damaged or not returned by the new company. Absolutely disgusted by the new company not bothering to recycle the waste. I didn't realise this was happening until I read this discussion, further proof that this new contractor is totally useless. What's the point in the 3 month get out clause? If they're not ready to start delivering the expected service when they take on the contract, they should not be awarded it. Once again, the mind boggles at Ealing council. It really does. |
