I'm an unashamed NIMBY on this one. There is a lovely green patch along the lane at the edge of the Goldsmith Estate which leads to the old stables. It has foxes and wood-peckers and a thicket of sycamores. Each year there's a community firework party on November 5th. A decade ago, the owner of number 9 Cumberland Park applied to build a house abutting the lane and was turned down. Now he has applied again. If he succeeds, the whole patch will fall and we will have a row of ten or fifteen houses along an unmade-up road. The application number is 173603FUL. The consultation has been timed to run, neatly, only in August and closes on the 29th. It's not a benefit to anyone but the owner and would be a detriment to many. Do please object if you can. |
