The song doesn't represent the Gunnersbury Park I know. I volunteer there and visitors regularly comment on how lovely it looks, and how much they enjoy the planting in the beds. My Gunnersbury Park has glorious birdsong, newts and toads, abundant bees and dragonflies, ducklings and cygnets on the boating lake. It also is regularly awarded a Green Flag, and was awarded a Gold for London in Bloom in 2021.
The summer concerts are a major source of income to maintain the park and the mansions for the benefit of all. The park is run by a not-for-profit CIC, it is not an 'enterprise'.
