Family voting isn't illegal and there is no evidence that it is prevalent in Ealing. Tower Hamlets has a large relatively recently arrived Bangladeshi community that does tend to vote in a bloc but Ealing is very different. Large Hindu, Muslim and Sikh communities have been here for up to four generation with many first arriving after the war after British Indian army officers encouraged them to come have seen the great service they provided.
They wouldn't see themselves as a block vote and people from these communities are represented in all parties, including Reform!. Look at Harrow for example where the Conservatives hold power. As I have tried to explain, one important reason they vote Labour is the high levels of union membership particularly relating to airport work. The reality that you may need to face is that your neighbours are more independently minded, better educated and have a better understanding of local issues than you, regardless of skin colour. |
