Update: Crossrail works near Acton House, Horn Lane, end July – beginning of August 2013 Further to our letter of 27 June, we are writing to update you on the work to install a new signalling power supply unit in the compound next to Acton House. We have now cleared the ground and are working to construct the base for the new unit. This work is being done Monday to Friday, 08.00 to 17.30. Next weekend, 3 & 4 August, we will crane in the new signalling unit. The crane will be located at Jewson’s yard. We will be working between Saturday (12.00) and Sunday (16.30), but the crane lift itself must take place at night when the trains are not running. We will endeavour to keep noise to a minimum and try to ensure site lights do not shine into residents’ properties. The work described above is in addition to the overhead line piling planned for Sundays (00.01 – 09.00). Residents may notice the access point on Horn Road being used to get machinery and teams onto the tracks to undertake this work. In accordance with the Crossrail Construction Code, we will endeavour to minimise disruption to local residents and those working on site will be briefed on their obligations to work considerately.
