That's because there is no-one to stop them (nor hairdressers either) there's this thing called market forces that is supposed to determine when there are too many, too similar enterprises for the demand and weed out the least efficient (Economics for Historians 101 1976) But that can't be trusted for chemists apparently...oh no, some beastly has to sit and determine whether we NEED a chemist opposite a doctor's surgery and in easy distance for local residents. And according to the PCT, we don't. And it's against the law to set up a chemist without PCT clearance. A job for our Tory (and therefore believing in the market surely) new MP? |
