Of course, you are entitled to your opinion. Personally I wouldn't be happy for my children to be exposed to a culture of bullying such as we witnessed at St Vincent's. As for the blog. If anyone cares to read the blog it is obvious that there are many contributors, not just one disgruntled individual with a personal grievance. Following Mrs Cleugh's entry to the school there were many parents and staff who expressed concerns. Unfortunately this was not allowed within the new regime and those that did so were made only too aware of this new approach. At one point a large delegation of parents even contacted the Governors, the local MP and the Diocese their concerns were so great. The MP was powerless and the Governors and Diocese totally ignored or dismissed the parents as troublemakers. Inded one of the Governors even produced his own blog personally attacking parents who had the temerity to ask questions about what was happening. Many parents at the time were too afraid to raise their heads above the parapet, they wanted their kids to get into their secondary school of choice and didn't want to be seen as rocking the boat. Undoubtedly there were some parents who were happy with the way things were, there always will be. For those of us who knew the school and had worked-with and assisted the school over many years, what happened was a tragedy compounded by the fact that exactly the same had happened in Hillingdon previously. At the end of the day parents have a choice. There are some good primary schools in Acton, Derwentwater, Berrymead and Southfield for example. I wish you well in your selection. |
