They say it's temporary but seem to have been less than straight about the last "temporary" cuts to the service in peak.

This is what they say is happening:

"The changes to London Overground services will come into effect from 20th February 2010. These changes are:

-       No rail services between Gospel Oak and Stratford, all day, every day

-       A revised morning and evening peak timetable between Richmond and Gospel Oak which will see three trains an hour between Richmond and Willesden Junction, two of which will continue on to Gospel Oak

-       A revised morning and evening peak timetable between Clapham Junction and Gospel Oak which will see three trains and hour between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction, two of which will continue on to Gospel Oak

-       Reduced service frequency between Willesden Junction and Gospel oak in the morning and evening peak times (there will be 4 trains per hour between Willesden Junction and Gospel Oak, rather than the current frequency of 6 trains per hour)

The programme of work is currently planned to be completed by Network Rail’s contractors on 31st May 2010. If for any reason the work should over-run, we will make every effort to keep passengers up to date and a comprehensive communications plan will be rolled out. The introduction of the four trains per hour service onto the Richmond – Stratford line is scheduled to take place in 2010 once these works have been completed. However, there will still be weekend engineering works on this line throughout 2010."

They are having an information session for passengers at the station  on 21 January 2010 between 4.30 and 7.30pm

But I don't suppose anything the people who actually use the service say wil have any effect whatsoever.
