| It's an old chestnut - but we shouldn't forget the Who - who grew up in Acton, went to Acton High, played some of their first gigs when still called the Detours in the Town Hall and what was then the White Hart Hotel and later wrote a song "Stardom in Acton" with an accompanying video filmed on the Churchfield Road .... admittedly a Pete Townsend solo project. I always find it kind of amazing that you can sell 120 million records world wide, repeatedly come in the top ten "Most Influential Bands of All Time" etc, ... and yet is there ANYTHING in Acton to mark this ...
