Hi Uzma, There is no golden rule how far a cat will travel, some only 7 gardens, some 7 streets. My cat went missing from the vets at the top of Emannuel Ave and was found  about 4 streets further along on St Dunstans. As he didn't go missing in his own neighbourhood, the search was that so much more difficult.I would suggest up to a mile radius to start with, put posters in plastic sleeves ideally with cable tie on trees, lamposts/ at bust stops, etc. Most newsagents/cafe/etc have a good heart and will put a poster in their window for a couple of weeks. Same with putting them on lamposts, the council turn a blind eye. when you go out looking, it's a good idea to take the cat's bowl and tap with a spoon, or rattle biscuits, whichever they would come to you before. Walk slowly and pause a lot to listen out if he is calling to you. If it is safe to, it it best to search late at night, cat's will feel safer to come out in the quiter hours in search of food when there are less cars and people around. Also check if there are any derelict/unoccupied properties in the area People will help, I had so many people helping me on Emmanuel Ave, Horn Lane, Messaline Ave and it's side roads and St Dunstans Ave, I had over 20 thankyou cards to write at the end! Just don't give up hope, he's out there missing home as much as home is missing him.
