Not really Ian, if it means the public are unable to view the plans. I am sure it is pure coincidence that Crest Nichoson withdrew their appeal for the 2008 plans a week before the enquiry. The fact that most people have now assumed the project is on hold was surely not their intention? This application is still for 85 flats, up to 5 storeys and ground floor retail, with very little parking. The only objection Ealing have is the access via Gunnersbury Road. They are not concerned about the retention of the old facade. This is not a stylish construction designed to enhance and improve the area as the developers are claiming. It is to be clad in 'light greys, oranges and subtle blues with the occasional stronger panel.' The only way anyone can have details in writing of the decision is to request them in writing before the inquiry on Tuesday. (Presumalbly you can do this via email.) This is also the only way the council can gauge whether people actually care what happens to the conservation areas in their town. |
