| Hustings are pretty rare for local Elections, actually. In Acton, they are usually put on by the Churchfield Community Association. Nothing to do with the Labour (or any other) party. They happen if people are willing to do the work of setting them up - usually General Elections. There was one for the Brexit referendum too. I sometimes chair the election ones and have never felt any pressure from any party. |
