Letter sent to Bell today: Dear Julian Bell, Has Ealing Council made any statement in respect of the homophobia-rooted demonstrations that have been occurring at school gates around Birmingham and have now reached our Borough? I learned of them only from BBC Newsnight and by making a FOIR, the response to which was inadequate. You are, I hope, aware that some of these protests have been accompanied by pets being slaughtered and strung up the school gate or their dismembered remains strewn across the school yard. The headmistress of one school has had to endure disgusting hate mail and teachers threatened that, if they taught that homosexuality was an acceptable way of life, they would be shot. If you have not made a statement, that is a disgrace and, if you are not prepared to do so, you should resign. Appeasing Muslim extremism by pretending it does not exist will not do. Make a statement and make sure you name the schools. Yours sincerely, Andrew Farmer Reply, Reply all or Forward Send |
