| This is a real opportunity for Ealing Council to repair some of the damage they did after the Oaks decision. An Arts Centre will be of much more long-term value to the local community on this site than more flats. It will also the kind of project that has impacts that are hard to calculate. You create an Arts Centre, you help re-generate the High Street, you help re-generate the High Street, you create a more investment friendly environment for small businesses etc etc etc. They will have to balance that against the counter-argument of here is £x million in cold-hard cash from a developer. |
